Turkey Wrapped In Bacon

Happy Thanksgiving brothers & sisters!!  For all of you working  today,  this kick ass bacon turkey is for YOU!!

Since this is my first blog for Blue Bacon I figured I should let you all know a little bit about myself.  I'm happily married with two amazing children,  I'm a police officer in a suburban town outside of Boston, MA and I have a true passion in fitness and nutrition!  In 2008 a co-worker introduced me to Crossfit and shortly thereafter I was introduced to the Paleo Diet.  Enough about me and let's talk TURKEY!!

Thanksgiving is a day, at least for me, to indulge heavy on delicious home cooking, a few tequila and seltzer drinks,  football, naps, and QT with familia & amigos.  Foods I chow on today are; turkey (dark and white), salad, butternut squash, mashed sweet potatoes, and APPLE PIE!!  Yes, I will have a few cocktails, usually a glass or two of a nice Merlot and a few Norcal Margaritas at night.  I stay away from all starchy carbs and sugars, except my love for apple pie.  I know starchy carbs are freaking delicious but they're evil to your digestive system, so no eat.  Focus more on turkey, salad, and squashes if you have them.  Also, leave your smart phone alone and snuggle next to your wife or husband, kids, or dog as you watch endless amounts of football on the sofa.  We don't do this enough, so take advantage of the laziness if you're fortunate enough to have the opportunity!

For all the LEO's working today, especially those working doubles, STAY SAFE and THANK YOU for your service today.  I hope you all get a chance to have a Thanksgiving meal at some point today, and if you do, stay away from starchy carbs and sugars or at least minimize the intake.
